Agatha Christie is and will always be one of the most talented murder mystery authors of all time.
Her books have always fascinated young and curious minds and will continue to do so.
all of her books are great but even in the greats, there is a best .keeping this in mind lets take a look at my personal top 5 Agatha Christie books.
1)MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS
now let me tell you, this book is absolutely fantastic. And it has our favorite Belgian detective, Mr. Hercule Poirot. The story is of a murder which takes place in the carriage of the orient express stranded due to snow, and since it is stranded , the passengers come to a conclusion and voice it in one of the most famous sentences of the book:- "the murderer is with us- on the train now... "
Here is the introduction to the story:-
"isolated by the storm and with a killer in their midst, detective Hercule Poirot must identify the prime suspects from a scornful and impatient array of passengers-before the murderer strikes again"
HAVE A GREAT TIME FINDING THE CULPRIT!!!
2)THE ABC MURDERS:-
this is one of my all time favorites. The book hasn't got a single moment which got me bored or made the story slow. Every chapter ,every twist and every incident is so well placed that if you are a true reader, you will literally fall in love with the story and would not want to leave the story until you have finished it. Here is the introduction to the story :-
" ' let us see, Mr. Clever Poirot just how clever can you be.'
There's a serial killer on the loose, working his way through the alphabet and the whole country is in a state of panic.
A is for Mrs. Ascher in Andover, B is for Betty Bernard in Bexhill, C is for Sir Carmichael Clarke in Churston. With each murder, killer is getting more confident- but leaving a trail of deliberate clues to taunt the the proud Hercule Poirot might just prove to be the first, and fatal mistake... "

3)THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD:-
this book, like the previous ones and the ones to follow, is a masterpiece. This book is one of the 3 most sold books of Agatha Christie and there is no reason why it should not be on that list.
The only problem which I had with this book was that the story seemed uninteresting at some places since it is one of Agatha Christie's longest thrillers. But the ending to this story is completely breathtaking and I had never expected it at all.
Here is the introduction to the story :-
"Roger Ackroyd knew too much. He knew that the women he loved had poisoned her brutal first husband. He suspected also that someone had been blackmailing her. Then, tragically came the news that she had taken her own life with a drug overdose.
But the evening post brought Roger one last fatal scrape of information. Unfortunately, before he could finish reading the letter, he was stabbed to death. "
4)AND THEN THERE WERE NONE:-
Of all the books mentioned in the list and of all Agatha Christie's books, this is my favorite one.
this book was my first Agatha Christie book and i had no idea about how would the story be since I had never read Agatha Christie before, but this book literally made my fur crawl on end.
The story constantly makes you feel nervous and the story is so well written that you can literally imagine yourself to be one of the book's characters and you can literally feel the atmosphere and the sense of dread settling upon you.
The story is so good, i just cannot explain it in words .Read it yourself and you will get the same feeling too.
here is the introduction to the story (it is a bit long) :-
'ten...' Ten strangers are lured into an isolated island mansion off the Devon coast by a mysterious 'U.N. Owen'.
'nine...' At dinner, a recorded message each of them in turn of having a guilty secret ,and by the end of the night, one of the guests is dead.
'eight...' Stranded by a violent storm, and haunted by an ancient nursery rhyme counting down one by one... as one by one ... they begin to die.
'seven ...' Which amongst them is the killer and will any of them survive ?
